The Russians Are Coming

When Dopey Joe Biden suggested that electing Barack could be dangerous, he suggested a challenge coming from an outside foe, similar to how the Russians went after JFK, sensing weakness, in the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Barack Obama did not have to wait long before his leadership as incoming president was challenged.

And Joe promised that he knew what he was talking about. Which just might be a first.

"Watch. We're going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.

"And he's going to need help . . . to stand with him. Because it's not going to be apparent initially; it's not going to be apparent that we're right."

On Barack's first day as President-elect, guess what - The Russians Are Coming!

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev not only did not publicly congratulate Obama today, he did not mention Obama by name during his first annual address to the Russian people. But, he did announce plans for a new missile system to counter the planned U.S. missile defense installations in Eastern Europe.

Medvedev also accused the U.S. of triggering the world financial crisis and said selfish American foreign policy sparked the war between Russia and Georgia in August. He added, "We hope that our partners — the new U.S. administration — will make a choice in favor of fully-fledged relations with Russia."

Is it possible that Joe did know what he was talking about?

Lying, Actually

Want to see a malicious campaign? Remember how Biden claimed a couple of weeks ago that Barack would be tested, like a young John Kennedy was, if he's elected. It was a shockingly stupid thing to say, but also something that you'd expect to hear out of a McCain supporter, not Obama's running mate. Look at the nasty trick used by Barack to try to escape responsibility for Biden's true words.

Biden did wrap up by saying that Barack would respond well to the threat, but that's not what he "actually" said. Here's what he actually said.

Barack has built great trust in his followers which he betrays on a daily basis. But they follow with religious ferocity, and their eyes no longer see.

Rasmussen Moves For McCain

Rasmussen operates the most stable, in my estimation, of polls. I like it because it is slow to change - something in their technique apparently buffers the daily fluctuations. Today it moves two points, after having shown a 5% Barack lead for the last two days, and an 8% lead for the two days before that.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Barack Obama attracting 50% of the vote nationwide while John McCain earns 47%. This is the first time McCain has been within three points of Obama in more than a month and the first time his support has topped 46% since September 24.
This represents a crack in the wall of Barack. Getting him to the fifty point range is significant, as George Stephanopoulos observed the other day, as his campaign believes he will finish with a lower vote total than what the closing polls indicate.
Prior to today’s update, Obama had been ahead by four-to-eight points every single day for 33 straight days. During that 33-day stretch, Obama’s voter support had stayed between 50% and 52% every day while McCain was in the 44% to 46% range. It will take another day or so to determine whether today’s numbers reflect a lasting change or statistical noise. Two of the last three nights of polling show a closer race than was found in the previous month. Obama is now viewed favorably by 55% of voters nationwide, McCain by 54%.

Tax Gaffe

Biden changes the Obama tax proposal. Biden's accurate in suggesting that there's nothing about the $250,000 figure that anyone should trust. The only thing you can trust is that he'll be raising taxes - and that figure will be abandoned on day one.

Nutty E's

As much as they respect brains and sophistication, liberals find theirs largely inoperative when it comes to Barack. Here's the latest bit of email I've received purporting to offer profound insights. (The email I received is in blue, my responses are in black):

A question of perspective :
Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin, what if things were switched around?..... think about it. Would the country's collective point of view be different? Could racism be the culprit?

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?
Considering he's black, and this would reinforce negative perceptions of being black, he would surely face a different standard. But you have to take the good with the bad - Barack wouldn't be the Democratic nominee if he wasn't black.
What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
That would be a nice addition to his naval academy training.
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

One of the only justifications for his candidacy would be gone.
What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?
If it had occurred decades ago, no one would care, and Barack would defend himself from any mention of it by claiming that his failed marriage isn't what's going to bring the American people jobs and a prosperous economy. But, of course, the vast majority of voters would not be aware of the fact, because the pro-Obama media wouldn't write about it. (see next post down.)
What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe
disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?
See above.
What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while
he was still married?
See above.
What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain
killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
See above.
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
She wouldn't be hated by liberals who judge her harshly for being blond, rich and tacky. Those negative attributes would be viewed as insignificant compared to her being in possession of the liberal certificate of approval known as a Harvard diploma.
What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?
(The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption
in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings
and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)
Obama has many worse things in his recent past and no one seems to care, so there's no reason to think a 20 year old scandal would matter. Hope and Change is all that matters.
What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
No one would vote for Barack - he would have lost his ability to differentiate himself.
What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?
See above.
What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included
discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?
He'd be up by 30%, as he'd have some experience that people could respect.
What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many
occasions, a serious anger management problem?
With his lack of any other achievement in his short career, this might loom large. If he had McCain's 50+ years of professional experience, no one would care, and again, the media wouldn't write about it.
What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?
They'd be rich.
What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?
Folks would be confused, but impressed at yet another example of Barack's willingness to do anything to win.
You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality,
do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes
positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in
another when there is a color difference.

Educational Background:

Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in
International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

John McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - gener al study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest offices in
the land as well as our standing in the world. You make the call.
Given that John McCain's education was completed around the time Barack was born, there are other things to judge him by, so education appropriately takes a back seat to experience. Since Barack lacks any qualifications for the presidency, his educational experience is vital.

Given that Joe Biden appears to suffer mental problems and has been on the wrong side of virtually every important vote during his lifelong senate career, Sarah looks awfully strong by comparison.

I've got a question for them:
  • If John McCain had 8 years in the state senate as his single largest and longest career achievement, had little to show for his time there, and had built his career by cavorting with racists, black separatists, former terrorists and other scummy people, would he have been able to get this far?
  • If Barack were not black, would he have been able to get the Democratic nomination?
Now there are some important questions for liberals to ponder. But they won't.
You make the call.

Media Bias Bothering Liberals

Even liberals are complaining about the liberal media.
In a room full of television industry executives, no one seemed inclined to defend MSNBC on Monday for what some were calling its lopsidedly liberal coverage of the presidential election.

The cable news channel is "completely out of control," said writer-producer Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, a self-proclaimed liberal Democrat.
Maybe she's still angry about Hillary?
She added that she would prefer a lunch date with right-leaning Fox News star Sean Hannity over left-leaning MSNBC star Keith Olbermann.

Olbermann was criticized by many who attended Monday's luncheon sponsored by the Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The event was dubbed "Hollywood, America and Election '08."

Bloodworth-Thomason and others seemed especially critical of the way MSNBC -- and other media -- has attacked Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin while demeaning her supporters.
And last week, Dan Rather said that Sarah Palin would have been skewered for saying what Joe Biden promised would be a testing of the new President if Obama is elected.
Former CBS anchorman Dan Rather says there is a huge double-standard in the media when it comes to coverage the Barack Obama campaign receives, which is clearly made evident in the lack of scrutiny given to comments Obama’s vice presidential running mate Sen. Joe Biden made earlier this week.
That's pretty good coming from a guy who used to say things like this in his TV newscasts.

“The new Republican majority in Congress took a big step today on its legislative agenda to demolish or damage government aid programs, many of them designed to help children and the poor.”

— Leading off the March 16, 1995 CBS Evening News.
It's funny. Every self-respecting liberal I've ever debated has insisted that media bias is an imagined, and impossible, phenomenon, a symptom of conservatism.

Banned by Biden

Attempts by local media outlets to ask appropriate questions of the Obama campaign are meeting with resistance. As we learned last week, when Orlando anchor Barbara West went after Biden, those who misbehave will be punished. It's happened again in Philly.

Broken kneecap, anyone?

Biden Goes West

Great questions for Joe Biden from Orlando news anchor Barbara West has lead to her TV station being cut off by the Obama campaign. All she did was ask the obvious:

* If Biden is "embarrassed about the blatant attempt to register phony voters by ACORN," since Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., worked with the organization in the past;

* If Obama's comment about wanting tax policies that "spread the wealth" is "a potentially crushing political blunder"

* "You may recognize this famous quote: 'from each according to his abilities to each according to his needs.' That's from Karl Marx. How is Sen. Obama not being a Marxist if he intends to spread the wealth around?";

* Regarding Biden's comment that the world would test Obama and the Obama-Biden administration will need the support of Americans since it might not be immediately apparent Obama did the right thing -- "Are you forewarning Americans that nothing will be done and America's days as the world's leading power are over?"

* "What do you say to the people that are concerned that Barack Obama will want to turn America into a Socialist country like Sweden?"

These questions were so on target that Biden was shocked by them.
Biden seems quite taken aback by the anchor's questions, at one point asking her, "Are you joking? Is this is a joke? Or is that a real question?"

The interview prompted the Obama-Biden campaign to cancel a subsequent interview with Jill Biden.

"The campaign cited 'an unprofessional interview' WFTV's Barbara West did Thursday with Joe Biden," reports the Orlando Sentinel. "In a statement Friday, Adrianne Marsh, Florida spokeswoman for Obama's campaign, said the station, in talking with Sen. Biden, was 'both combative and woefully uninformed about simple facts. ... In a line of questioning that would make Rush Limbaugh proud, West even went as far as to quote Karl Marx, a Communist icon, in a disturbing attempt to associate Barack Obama with socialism.'"

It would have been nice if she'd also asked about the Obamafia, Barack's collection of radical friends who got him where he is today, but West got some good questions on the table... one's that were naturally dodged by Biden.

Loose Clip

The Obama campaign released Joe Biden's medical records this week, but left out the most important part - evidence regarding whether his bizarre poor judgment could be the result of his brain problems.
The Delaware lawmaker's biggest health issue concerns two brain aneurysms he had surgery for in 1988. Dr. Eisold had written that Biden has "recovered fully without continued effects" from the aneurysm, but the records released Monday did not reveal whether or not Biden has had periodic brain imaging done since his surgeries.
His comments Sunday, made at two separate events, that America will face external threats if we elect Barack Obama prove that 1) either Joe has an important screw that has come loose, or 2) he believes deeply, as any informed American would, that McCain must win this election.
The campaign assured reporters that they would release additional records about follow-up brain scans, but they have yet to do so.

Doctors say a look at Biden's MRI's would reveal the likelyhood of future anyeurisms, but it appears there haven't been any done since his surgery 20 years ago.
However, ABC News can now confirm that Biden has never had a follow-up MRI because the metal clips used on the aneurysms in 1988 are "not compatible" with that test, according to an Obama-Biden aide.
So there is a real chance that not a screw, but a clip, has come loose - which might explain why Biden voted against the Alaska Oil Pipeline. Or why he voted against the first gulf war. Or why he voted to make illegal aliens eligible for social security.
The aide said the Delaware senator did have tests of some kind following the 1988 surgery that showed he was "aneurysm free," but could not provide details of what these tests were or when and where they were performed.
There's obviously something they're hiding.
In addition to a form of MRI, another test often used to detect brain aneurysms is a CT scan, sometimes called a CAT scan. A CT scan is a special type of X-ray that allows doctors to see weaknesses in the walls of brain arteries. It is possible that Biden might have had such a procedure, but again the campaign has not confirmed any specifics about any tests done.

Ladies & Gentlemen

It's a wonder that Barack still lets Biden out to campaign.

Then again, Barack created Joe the Plumber.

Robo Lies

The McCain campaign doesn't have endless amounts of money to spend like Barack does, so it's doing the low-cost answer to half-hour prime time programs. Robocalls.
The McCain calls portray Obama as an abortion extremist who won't keep the country safe and "worked closely with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, whose organization bombed the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, a judge's home and killed Americans."
The Barack campaign, which lies and misrepresents as its standard MO, is attacking McCain, saying the calls are inappropriate. And guess how they're doing it - with robocalls!
Wisconsin voters started hearing Wednesday from Obama's side.
Jeri Watermolen of Green Bay says in a taped message: "Like you, I've been getting sleazy phone calls and mail from John McCain and his supporters viciously — and falsely — attacking Barack Obama." She says she no longer supports McCain.

Barack's Lines

Presidential politics is like making a movie. The candidate is the actor, his job is to deliver the lines written for him by the script writers. Politicians who don't get this, or have a conscience, don't do as well.

Barack is the first candidate, perhaps, to fully embrace this requirement of the TV era. Everything is a prop, every speech a hustle. His grandmother, his preacher, his mentors, they are all props when push comes to shove.

John McCain has a problem with this. He's an old fashioned man, built on dated ideas such as values and honor. So he's uncomfortable at debates when he is forced to recite lies.

Barack spews them with relish - with utter comfort. Unburdened by a sense of responsibility, he thinks only about performance while delivering his well memorized lines. He performs without flaw.

Barack lies about Bill Ayers, his mentor. He lies about Jeremiah Wright, his mentor. He covers up his connection to Tony Rezko, his most important money man during his Chicago years. He doesn't mention his job as chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, his only managment credential.
Harry Smith: The rancorous tone of this campaign - I was with John McCain on Monday, and I said, 'Our poll data shows that it's actually hurting you.' He says, 'I wouldn't be doing it if he weren't doing it.'

He lied about his policy on the war. He lied about his commitment to public financing. He lied about FISA. The list goes on an on.
Barack Obama (laughing): Well, look. I - I mean - politics is tough. ... But I will say this: I don't think there's any equivalence between what we've been doing and what John McCain's been doing. ... Witness some of the comments that have been made just over the last several months, his last several weeks, 'Socialistic.' You know, 'Pals around with terrorists.' I mean, just - the kinds of stuff that - that I can't imagine saying about an opponent of mine.
Isn't that funny? Barack's political and spiritual mentors are Marxists, socialists, criminals and anarchists, but he just can't imagine talking about anyone the way the GOP talks about him. Poor Barack.

Barack may be the best political candidate ever. Because he doesn't let the truth get in the way.

Funny

This is from Bloomberg. They must have done a little blow before writing this one.
Joe Biden is the Reggie Jackson of presidential politics this year.

Jackson is the Hall of Fame baseball player who was known as ``Mr. October'' for always delivering for his teams when the stakes were highest, during the World Series played in that month.

When presidential candidate Barack Obama chose the Delaware senator as his running mate in August, it was viewed as a conventional pick that did little to energize the Democratic Party. In the last six weeks, Biden, 65, has emerged as one of campaign's greatest strengths.

Compassion

You recall how the media blew things completely out of proportion a couple of weeks ago when the crowds at some McCain events got a little rowdy. It played into the "conservatives are mean" storyline that the liberal media feeds.
You're full of shit, pal.
Would you be shocked to learn that liberals also get a bit emotional - and ugly - over politics?
McCain is a tratorous rat
An LA Times writer was a little surprised by the response when, in contrast to his many columns taking McCain to task, he wrote something good about the Republican nominee.
IT WAS THE BUSH CAMPAIGN IN 2000 WHO REPEATED CALLED MCCAIN A "FAKE HERO" A "TRAITOR" A "FAGGOT" AND MANY OTHER INCREDIBLY VILE THINGS.

WHY NOT WRITE ABOUT THAT?

From the hearts of the compassionate left!
McC is no hero. He lost three planes before getting shot down in Hanoi. With all the practice ejecting, he still did it wrong.
That's just a small sampling of the wrath heaped upon Matt Welch for challenging the liberal hate spin that McCain is not a war hero.

Odd

The fact that Joe Biden uses campaign funds to pay the landscapers didn't raise much of a stir. But campaign funds for Sarah's wardrobe have the media in a tizzy.

Sarah Palin, small-town hockey mom and everywoman? More like Sarah Palin, pampered princess. Jeanne Cummings at Politico reports that the RNC’s monthly financial disclosure reports reveal that the Republican National Committee has spent tens of thousands of dollars on the vice presidential candidate's wardrobe and accessories since she was nominated, including $150,000 in September alone.
Rage_palin2
So it seems you can take the girl out of the beauty pageant, but you can’t take the beauty pageant out of the girl.
While Sarah continues to take heat for not giving the press more access, it turns out that Biden is the one who is in hiding.
The handful of reporters from Biden’s national press corps who have followed him incessantly for two months have not had the opportunity to ask questions regarding the "crisis" matter - even to allow Biden to clarify his remarks - because he has not taken questions or held a press availability with his press corps since Sept. 7.

And it was Joe Biden, with a couple of wires clearly not connected, who proudly made the outrageous claim that America would face international trouble for electing Barack. Imagine if Palin had said such a thing?

An opportunity to hold a rifle to a mock up of Sarah Palin goes unnoticed in New York City. What if it was a Democrat? What if it was the first black man with a major party nomination instead of the woman who will be the first female VP?

Penn Close

McCain is fighting hard to keep Pennsylvania alive with polls showing him losing ground. But a memo from the Obama campaign says their internal numbers show a tight race.
WILK radio host Steve Corbett said Tuesday he obtained an Obama campaign e-mail about the internal poll showing a tight race. Pollster.com's trend line of public Pennsylvania polls has Obama leading McCain 54 percent to 38 percent.
Was this just a motivational email to the troops, as the campaign claims, or signs that the race is getting closer? You can hear the interview here.

Obama's Pennsylvania communications director Sean Smith said on Corbett's show that the field organizer who sent the e-mail may have been trying to energize Obama volunteers. Smith wouldn't confirm the internal poll numbers, but he said that the e-mail was sent without permission and that the campaign worker has since been reprimanded.

Biden's Test

One of the bizarre quirks of the presidential campaign is that the media has obsessed so over Sarah Palin's readiness to be president when Joe Biden is also a VP candidate.

John McCain and Sarah Palin sharpened their attack yesterday on Barack Obama's readiness to be commander-in-chief, using his running mate's prediction that Obama would be tested by an international crisis early in his presidency.

Seriously, Biden's remarks on Sunday indicate that his past problems don't have to do with being gaffe prone so much as being brain damaged.

Newly released medical records from vice presidential candidate Joe Biden do not include the results of any recent brain scans, which some experts consider necessary to assess whether the senator is at risk for a repeat of the brain aneurysms that nearly killed him 20 years ago.

The concern isn't a new aneurysm, the concern is what sort of damage was done by the earlier brain incidents.

McCain noted that Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden had compared Obama to John F. Kennedy, who presided over the failed Bay of Pigs invasion, then the Cuban missile crisis early in his term.

McCain said he was in his cockpit on the deck of the USS Enterprise in the waters off Cuba during the 1962 crisis.

Doesn't Joe remember that any mention of security issues returns the conversation to McCain's strength?

"You know how close we came to a nuclear war?" he told supporters in Harrisburg, Pa. "America will not have a president who needs to be tested. I've been tested."

Barack, of course, has not been tested on anything, while Biden has failed most every test connected to judgment.

"Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. . . . I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate. And he's gonna need help," Biden said, though he added that anyone who tests Obama will discover he has "a spine of steel."

While the elites are wringing their hands over Sarah, they don't notice that they've nominated a novice, born in the manger of radicals, who is backed up by a guy who has a screw loose.

Yesterday in Reno, Nev., Palin told supporters, "I guess we gotta say, 'Well, thanks for the warning, Joe.' " She then imagined the "crisis scenarios," based on what she described as Obama's foreign policy agenda: his pledge to meet with rogue leaders without preconditions, though he has amended that vow; and Obama saying he would go into the tribal areas of Pakistan to go after Osama bin Laden if the Pakistani government wouldn't, though Palin has supported a similar policy.

Race Stalled

The Gallup poll is up to a 7% Obama lead today among likely voters, joining Zogby in the swing toward Barack over the past couple of days, while Rasmussen moved down to a 4% Obama lead yesterday.
Among all registered voters, there has been fairly little variation in recent days, with Obama receiving between 50% and 52% of the vote over the last five reports and McCain in a range between 41% and 43%. In the current three-day rolling average of registered voters Obama remains ahead by 52% to 41%, exactly the same as Monday's update.
Perhaps Colin Powell is responsible for stopping the slow move toward McCain. Can the GOP recapture the momentum with things like Joe Biden's warning that electing Barack means trouble? We'll see.

Obama Dangerous Argue Dems

Michael Savage looks more accurate all the time - Liberalism is a mental disorder. First, Joe Biden issues an urgent warning, seemingly designed to make certain that Americans are scared to vote for Barack Obama. And now, Madelaine Albright says that wasn't an opinion Biden was offering - it's a fact - electing Barack is suicide.

Biden Missile Crisis

Joe Biden has issued a warning that electing Barack will lead to a deliberate international incident designed to test him. This was an allusion, it seems, to the Cuban Missile Crisis, an attempt by Russia to take advantage of the perceived weakness of the young JFK.
