It's Biden

The text message came in at 3:27 THIS MORNING! Is that when they finally decided on Joe Biden - perhaps over a game of poker, passing a bottle of scotch in a smoke filled room? Barack saying, "of all the gin joints in all the world, we had to decide in this one?"
Barack has chosen Senator Joe Biden to be our VP nominee. Watch the first Obama-Biden rally at 3pm ET on www.BarackObama.com. Spread the word.
What a clever way to build a positive relationship with your millions of potential voters - wake them up! To confirm what they were already pretty sure of if they cared enough to track the news! There, they would have seen the shots of Joe Biden's house with all the lights on and people coming and going.

My first thought was that I'd been spammed, but it seems not. Unless Barack was spammed as well, as Biden is now part of Barack's website. And there was an email that was sent out an hour or so later.

I have some important news that I want to make official. I’ve chosen Joe Biden to be my running mate. Joe and I will appear for the first time as running mates this afternoon in Springfield, Illinois — the same place this campaign began more than 19 months ago.

I’m excited about hitting the campaign trail with Joe, but the two of us can’t do this alone. We need your help to keep building this movement for a change. Please let Joe know that you’re glad he’s part of our team. Share your personal welcome note and we’ll make sure he gets it: http://my.barackobama.com/welcomejoe

The McCain camp must be excited, what with all the video out there with Biden talking about Barack's inexperience. McCain's folks didn't lose any time responding.
Their personal welcome note welcomed Biden to the team even before the Obama camp folks requested it. Now that’s thinking ahead. Their welcome-wagon email was received at 2:22am (Eastern Time):

There has been no harsher critic of Barack Obama’s lack of experience than Joe Biden. Biden has denounced Barack Obama’s poor foreign policy judgmkent and has strongly argued in his own words what Americans are quickly realizing — that Barack Obama is not ready to be President.”
