Age v Inexperience

I just wanted to point out a shift in perception of the candidates that has taken place since Barack returned from his overseas trip 10 days ago. When he left, 24% of voters were concerned that McCain might be too old, and 41% were worried that Barack might lack the experience to be president. A small change has taken place...

After the big trip designed to enhance perceptions of Barack as Commander in Chief, even more people (45%) doubt his readiness to lead. According to Gallup,
those who believe that Obama can handle the responsibilities of commander in chief dropped from 55 percent last month to 52 percent now. It also found that those who believe that Obama would do a good job dealing with terrorism dropped from 49 percent to 45 percent and those who think he would do a good job on the Iraq war dropped from 51 percent to 48 percent.

McCain does well in those categories.

Also, Democrat Obama still trails Republican John McCain substantially on the commander in chief and terrorism questions. For McCain, who has more military and foreign policy experience, 76 percent said he is ready to be commander in chief and 67 percent said he would do a good job on terrorism.
