Is Barack overconfident? Is it possible that he already thinks he's won the presidency? Check out this statement, made as he expressed surprise over the firestorm caused by his Iraq policy refinement press conference on Thursday.

"I'm surprised at how finely calibrated every single word was measured. I wasn't saying anything I hadn't said before, that I didn't say a year ago or when I was a United States senator," said Obama, who is still a senator from Illinois.

Actually, it's not such a bizarre thing to say. Since he was only in the job for about a year before commencing his run for the highest office in the land, "when I was a United States Senator" might be a good way to describe it.
