Barack's Dead Cat

Barack got what they call a 'dead cat bounce' out of his parade of great press when Hillary conceded 9 days ago, only gaining 7 points in the polls. Now, the bounce is over, as Gallup reports that McCain has pulled into a statistical tie with Obama.

The Gallup Poll Daily's tracking, conducted June 12-14, found 44 percent of national registered voters favor Obama, while 42 percent support McCain.

Since Obama's lead falls within the poll's two-point margin of error, he and McCain are statistically tied.

Oddly, Gallup has spun the bad news for Barack in such a way to make it look like good news for Barack. And of course all the stories on the poll are following Gallup's lead.
Barack Obama and John McCain are now about tied in Gallup Poll Daily tracking of voter preferences for the general election, nevertheless, in a June 9-12 Gallup Poll, Obama leads McCain 52% to 41% in public perceptions of who will win in November.
How could the public not think that Obama is going to win with all the adulation they shower upon him?
What tips the balance of national opinion more strongly in favor of Obama is that, by a nine-percentage point margin, independents join Democrats in believing Obama is likely to win.
