The Latino Vote

A new poll indicates that Barack is doing just fine with Latino voters - in some places.
The survey of 800 Lation voters in 21 states found that 60 percent planned to vote for Obama, compared to 23 percent for McCain, with 16 percent undecided.
Why didn't they survey the other 29 states? Apparently they were trying to see how Latino voters in states that Barack lost to Hillary feel now.

The poll, Latino Decisions, is a joint effort between Pacific Market Research and University of Washington political scientists Matt Barreto and Gary Segura. Barreto has previously overseen polls on Washington's gubernatorial race and state issues.

Among Democrats surveyed, 57 percent had supported Hillary Clinton in the just-concluded Democratic race, while 35 percent backed Obama.

McCain's numbers were stronger with Latino's in several key states. Barack leads McCain with
a 57-31 lead in four Southwest states -- Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico -- which may become key battlegrounds.
While 31% may be pretty good for McCain in those states, remember that George W. Bush received about 40% of the Latino vote in the 2004 election.
